Exercise vs. Nutrition

With the dominance of the internet, we've become increasingly confused about our wellness. One of the biggest areas of confusion that we run into is exercise vs. nutrition. Let's untangle this mess in an easy, simplistic fashion!

Exercise vs. Nutrition

The best way to understand the difference (and synergy) is like this.
Exercise determines the way you feel.
Nutrition determines the way you look.

Here's why.

Exercise strengthens your muscles (cardiovascular included) and releases endorphins (feel-good hormones). How your body feels, how easily you can complete daily tasks (walking up steps), and keeping your mental mood feeling good are all related to exercise. The long adage is you can't out-work a poor diet. That's why exercise is directly related to the way you feel. So, what about nutrition?

Our diet provides the building blocks of our body. If we eat too much energy (carbs/fats), our body will gladly store it as fat. If we don't eat enough protein, our body won't build the muscles. The way we eat directly correlates to the way our body looks outwardly. A lot goes into our overall nutrition and how hormonal changes can affect us, but the simple way to view our nutrition is - it directly relates to how we look.

It's far too easy to overcomplicate and dive down deep rabbit trails with cool cutting-edge science, but the simple truth about our exercise and nutrition habits and how they affect our lives remains the same. We hope that viewing these issues from a simple lens will help you understand how to make the necessary changes based on your overall wellness goals. So take care of your body; it is the only one you get!
